The Story of Brighton Pathways

Throughout her life, Diane has been dedicated to manifesting her visions and dreams for holistic health and alternative healing fields for practitioners and those who use those services. To that end, she founded and directed Brighton Pathways to Health LLC, an anchor to the alternative and holistic health community from its inception in 2008 until it closed its doors in February 2025. This was Diane’s standout contribution to the Rochester area and its inhabitants for health, healing, and wellness.

Creating a welcoming environment for all to enjoy and experience an exceptional way of being in the world was paramount to Diane. As the Rochester region’s only dedicated and freestanding holistic health center, Brighton Pathways had practice rooms where many practitioners provided individual healing services, such as Classical Five-Element Acupuncture, massage therapy, chiropractic, and mental health counseling.

Then, the addition of a beautiful classroom made Brighton Pathways the perfect environment for learning, teaching, and practicing various methods and modalities for larger groups of seekers. Thousands benefitted from the T’ai chi, meditation, yoga, movement therapy, shamanic journey drum circle, meditation, individualized martial arts classes for special needs students, and many other alternative and holistic classes and special events held over 17 years!

Brighton Pathways was minutes from the bustling 12 Corners in Brighton on an acre of land surrounded by woods and Allens Creek running alongside the property. Its unique, tranquil, and natural environment enhanced the overall healing experience. Hawks, wild turkey, deer, rabbits, butterflies, dragonflies, and many birds made their home in the surrounding woods. Their notable presence and felt energy were unique gifts that delighted all who came.

A Personal Note From Diane

I want to take this moment to thank everyone who made Brighton Pathways possible. Yes, I was the Founder and Director, but I couldn’t have done any of what I did without the help of scores of people over the years. I’ve had the great fortune to work with various teams of people who, in the beginning, literally helped craft the beauty that Brighton Pathways was. I needed to work in as natural environment as possible. To that end, an expert carpenter/cabinet-maker/builder, under the direction of a fine architect-designer, brought all-natural wood and glass to bear in the setting. With windows added and all lighting within the entire building changed over from fluorescent to incandescent, the ambiance of the building projected a welcoming warmth and light.

Over the years, I had many wonderful, skilled, and kind contractors who helped keep us running smoothly. As needed, I utilized the professional services of specialized, kind, and competent graphic and web designers, accountants, lawyers, and others who kept us visible, safe, and grounded in an uncertain and sometimes cruel world.

Many holistic healthcare providers have partnered with me over the years as co-tenants, applying their specialized healing art for their many patients and clients. I thank each of you and wish you well on the next chapter of your journey as a holistic healthcare provider. You have certainly improved my life and the lives of all of the people that you’ve seen and touched in your practices.

Also, there have been yoga teachers, shamanic practitioners, movement therapists, martial artists, and workshop leaders of varying modalities that used our beautiful classroom space (most of the time known as “The Yoga Room”). I also want to give each of you a big, hearty thank you. You are special people, sharing your gifts and knowledge of your art with your students.

Last but not least, a very special thank you goes to every patient, student, client, and seeker who has passed through the doors of Brighton Pathways. To each of you courageous, open-hearted, and trusting people who came seeking solace, comfort, and healing from those of us who practiced, led, and taught at Brighton Pathways, I owe a debt of gratitude.

A deep bow with love and respect goes to all who experienced and welcomed Brighton Pathways into your lives.

This chapter is over. But the end of the story is not known. Stay calm and carry on!
